This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in his State of the Nation address at the Federal Assembly, Censor.NET informs.
Putin started delivering his speech with the topic of the fight against terrorism.
"We have virtually squeezed terrorists out from Russia. But they still appear on a local scale. It is impossible to defeat terrorism by the efforts of only one country... Let us recall Afghanistan ... We know who wanted to damp the undesirable authorities ... The insurgents concentrated in Syria pose major threat. The Army and Navy of the Russian Federation have shown their fighting capacity. The sophisticated Russian weapons proved to be efficient," Putin insisted.
However, he believed that it was necessary to create a joint counter-terrorist center, which would operate under the auspices of the UN.
He has also once again accused Turkey of purchasing oil from the insurgents.
"Turkey provides terrorists the opportunity to make money out of stolen oil. They buy weapons with this money. Turkey's senior leadership is directly responsible for the deaths of the Russian pilots. We will never forget this. I do not understand why they did it. God decided to punish them by depriving their conscious mind and understanding. They will not see strong reaction from us. We are not going to take up arms. But if anyone thinks that they can get away with murder of our people in exchange for tomatoes or some restrictions in the construction industry - they are deluding themselves. They will keep regretting about what they have done. We know what we have to do," Putin said.
