 Hurricane hits Kharkiv region: woman killed, 34 cars damaged, 1,200 trees fell

More than 1,200 trees were felled in the Kharkiv region due to bad weather (wind squalls, wet snow accretion).

This was announced by the State Emergency Service, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

"A woman, born in 1956, received deadly wounds by a falling tree in Ivanchukivka village, Izium district. The elements also restricted road traffic in the region and damaged 34 cars," the message reads.

The State Emergency Service noted that as of 7 a.m. Thursday morning, the traffic has been renewed. 297 items of equipment and 728 members of personnel are employed at the emergency response and restoration operation, including 21 items of equipment and 80 members of personnel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
