Konotop police head caught red-handed receiving bribe, - SBU

The SBU officers in conjunction with the Internal Security of the National Police and Prosecutor's Office detained head of Konotop (Sumy region) police during taking a bribe.

Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the report, the police colonel extorted a 30,000 hryvnia bribe (about $1,200) through his driver-intermediary. The law enforcer promised not to prevent a state-owned enterprise from performing in the normal course of business.

The officers of the Security Service of Ukraine in Sumy region have detained the police officers receiving bribe in their official car.

The criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 3 of the Article 368 (accepting a bribe) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation is underway.
