NATO intends to "deter" Russia, - Russian Foreign Ministry

Russia's Foreign Ministry says in its commentary on the article by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, published in various media, that the Alliance sticks to the line of "deterring" Russia.

"The Alliance has once again adopted the official line of "deterring" Russia and further changing the balance of power in the European region in its favor, including in the immediate vicinity of our borders. Moreover, this activity is scaling up at such a pace that even more reasons emerge to question its compliance with obligations under the Russia-NATO Founding Act with regard to the non-deployment of substantial combat forces," the commentary notes.

As previously reported, Stoltenberg wrote in his article about the need of introduction of new safety regulations after the crash of Russia's bomber in Syria in order to avoid recurrence of such incidents.
