As offered by Ihor Lazavenko, the author of the petition, the constitution and laws should be amended to legally provide for the possibility of withdrawing citizenship from the persons who through their public statements or actions promote separatism, violation of territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.

"The separatism which is carried out by criminal means should be definitely punished by the revocation of citizenship. Because this is an attack on citizenship. An exception can only be separatism as a result of precise execution of democratic procedures and international law - this is the normal practice of building a state," the petition notes.
