As reported by CNN Turk, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said it at a meeting with the leadership of local authorities, Censor.NET informs citing Ukrainska Pravda.
"If there is another violation of our airspace, we are capable of the same kind of response," Erdogan said.
In addition, the Turkish president rejects the accusations of his Russian counterpart who says Turkey buys oil from Islamic State.
"They say we buy oil from Islamic State. Those in power say it. Shame on you. Those who throw such accusations should prove them," Erdogan stated, adding that Turkey imports most of gas from Russia.
"And as for attempts to islamize Turkey... Turkey is 99 percent Muslim," he said, responding to Putin's accusations.
