As reported by Censor.NET citing RIA Novosti, this was announced by head of the Naftohaz National Joint Stock Company Andrii Koboliev in an interview to CNN.
According to Koboliev, European partners offer lower prices for gas, which is the reason behind the government's decision to stop buying gas from Russia, he said.
The head of Naftohaz stressed that it was not a refusal to pay for Russian gas, but an economically motivated desire to spend less. According to Koboliev, the NJSC has more than 10 contractors who sell gas to Ukraine.
On Nov. 25 Ukrainian government decided to stop buying Russian gas. Koboliev had announced previously that the diversification was effective, and Ukraine would be able to cover its winter gas needs this and the following year with Europeans buys.
