According to the staff, today, Nov. 25, at a briefing on the situation along the demarcation line, head of the Ukrainian side at the JCCC Maj. Gen. Borys Kremenetskyi noted that illegal armed groups continued to violate cease-fire in certain territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
"The terrorists deliver aimed and provocative fire on ATO forces positions, using small arms, heavy machine guns, and granade launchers, thereby trying to provoke the Ukrainian military to return fire and violate the Minsk agreements. Nevertheless, in support of Ukraine's unconditional aspirations for a peaceful settlement of the situation in the Donbas, the chief of the general staff and commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has forbidden the Ukrainian military to open fire from midnight Nov. 25," the statement reads.
The Ukrainian side has informed the OSCE SMM and the Russian side at the JCCC about this.
As also reported, over the past day, the JCCC made six attempts at ceasing fire and they all brought results.
The briefing also drew attention to militants stepping up the activity of sabotage and reconnaissance groups in order to destabilize the situation: "For this reason, a representative of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry suggested introducing a moratorium on the use of sabotage and reconnaissance groups by militants in certain territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions along the demarcation line."
