 Poroshenko signed law on financial aid to civilian and military volunteers wounded in Donbas

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the law of Ukraine No. 735-VIII "On amending the Law of Ukraine "On war veterans status, guarantees, and social protection" regarding one-time payment to civil and military volunteers protecting independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as to families of the killed," which was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on Nov. 3, 2015.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the presidential press service.

According to the message, the law stipulates for provision of one-time financial aid to civil and military volunteers, as well as other persons who invalided as a result of a wound, a contusion, or a mutilation. The amount of the payment totals from 150 to 250-times of minimum living wage, depending on disability received.

In the case of death of the above mentioned persons, their relatives shall receive a one-time financial aid in the amount of 500-times of minimum living wage.

The law covers persons who received disability or died prior to this law coming into force, which is one month after the bill's publication, the presidential press service informed.
