 UK to provide nearly £1 mln worth of equipment to Ukrainian army to support it through winter

The UK will provide the Ukrainian military with a £971,000 assistance package as part of its non-lethal support.

This was announced by British Defense Secretary Michael Fallon before country's parliament on Thursday, Nov. 19, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

As reported at the UK government's portal, the equipment in question includes 170 large tents, 170 heating units, and 600 sets of cold weather clothing. The list has been agreed with the Ukrainian army and is designed to help it pass the winter period.

"The UK is committed to supporting Ukraine's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. That is why we are providing this gift of non-lethal equipment, to further help prevent Ukrainian fatalities and casualties, strengthen their defensive capability and build their resilience," Fallon said.
