Murder of law enforcement officers on Maidan could be masterminded by third force, - PGO

The Prosecutor General’s Office still has no idea on who have killed law enforcement officers during confrontation on Euromaidan. It could have been a provocation by a third force under one of the leads.

Head of the Main Investigation Directorate of the Prosecutor General's Office Serhii Horbatiuk said at a briefing today, Censor.NET reports citing Lіga.

"The attacks on law enforcement officers were recorded Feb. 20 before 9 a.m. Four people were killed as a result. Individuals who committed the assaults have not been established," he said.

According to Horbatiuk, investigators are currently pursuing several leads as for the shooters including probable provocations both from the side of the government and a "third force".

"No one has been served notice of suspicion since there is no reasonable information. But I emphasize that we have served notice of suspicion to former heads of law enforcement agencies and state authorities since it were their criminal acts that led to the deaths, including those of the law enforcement officers," UNIAN quoted Horbatyuk as saying.
