This was announced by Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Volodymyr Demchyshyn in an address to participants of the Petroleum Ukraine 2015 conference organized by the A-95 Consulting Group (Kyiv), Censor.NET reports with reference to Interfax-Ukraine.
"With regard to the embargo imposed on us by the Russian side: we were able to pass in 2015 thanks to the already existing diversification. Monthly deliveries of 170,000 tons of petroleum by the Russian companies have been substituted by other suppliers," he said.
He added that he considered supplies from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to be very promising.
"Turkmenistan is ready to supply at least 20,000 tons per month ... we have elaborated the cost of delivery. I am sure that the final price of Turkmenian oil products in Ukraine will be lower than the price of the domestic ones," he said.
