Poroshenko Bloc considers election in Kryvyi Rih illegitimate

The Petro Poroshenko Bloc Solidarity party withdraws its statement on recognition of the election in Kryvyi Rih as legitimate.

Ukrainska Pravda reports citing the statement of the political force released Monday evening, Censor.NET reports.

"We are grateful to our partners in the political struggle, allies in the democratic political forces, and consider the results of local election-2015 in Kryvyi Rih to be legitimate and held in accordance with European standards," the statement reads.

Leader of the Poroshenko Bloc faction in the Verkhovna Rada Yuriii Lutsenko and Kryvyi Rih branch party head Kostiantyn Usov announced the withdrawal of the statement.

"As the head of the Poroshenko Bloc faction, I have contacted Kostiantyn Usov, who heads the party branch in Kryvyi Rih. He has explained that this statement (by which Kryvyi Rih party branch has recognized the election in this city as legitimate - Ed.) was premature and would be withdrawn by the party branch taking into consideration the statements of vote rigging and possible decision on vote recounting," Lutsenko said.

"The final decision on who was chosen the mayor of the Ukrainian city is made not by the parties but the authorized election commission members," he recalled.
