"Half a day was spent in Hostomel today at the new base of the professional combat brigade of the National Guard that is just being created. It is an old garrison town consisting of broken-backed outbuildings with rotten roofs... but the signs of recovery are already visible: the barracks and headquarters are being restored, the territory is being cleansed. There are of a lot of friends in the temporary headquarters - veteran officers, sergeants. We have talked much about the future, watched slides, graphs, tables... discussed, debated ... without any signs of bureaucracy. The brigade is created matching the best world standards, taking into account the most advanced experience. This reform of the army is real not some show-off. A fighter, a soldier, a person is valued here above all else," Kasianov wrote.
He added that just a little more than a hundred soldiers have been selected from nearly 900 candidates over the covered period. "But they are deserved," the volunteer said.
