 Ukraine may introduce moratorium on paying $3 bln debt to Russia, - Yatseniuk

Ukraine may introduce a moratorium on the payment of a $3 bln debt to Russia, if the Russian authorities do not agree to a restructuring.

This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuk at a joint breefing with U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew, Censor.NET reports referring to 112 Ukraine.

"We approached Russia with a final proposal to hold negotiations on Oct. 29, but it once again refused to talk. Now everything depends on whether Russia is ready to continue negotiations or not. No other conditions except those offered to other creditors will be given to Russia. In case Russia ignores an appropriate restructuring, the Ukrainian government will introduce a moratorium on the payment of a $3 bln debt to the Russian Federation," the prime minister said.

Earlier, the financial authorities of the two countries failed to agree on Kyiv's restructuring of a $3 bln debt.
