Ukraine to cease import of electricity from Russia effective Nov. 11, - Minister Demchyshyn

Ukraine intends to stop importing electricity from Russia on Wednesday, Nov. 11.

This was announced by Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Volodymyr Demchyshyn at a briefing, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

"On Wednesday, we will stop receiving any electricity from Russia. It's a technological step connected with the commissioning of Rivne NPP power unit No. 3," he said.

He also added that at this point, Ukraine is capable of covering its domestic consumption.
