As reported by Censor.NET citing Espreso TV, the masterminds behind the law enforcement system reform promise that selection of militia servicemen for the new police will be open, transparent, and honest. Every Interior Ministry employee who wishes to serve in the law enforcement system will have to undergo reassessment.
Current heads of territorial units of the Interior Ministry will be reassessed twice: after re-certification, their appointment orders will be signed by the head of the National police subject to approval by the Interior Minister. After this, heads of regional departments of the Interior will be temporarily appointed advisers to the head of the National police, recently appointed Georgian Khatia Dekanoidze.
"We are building brand new system," she said at the meeting of the commission, adding that in order to work in the new police, old militia servicemen will have to prove it first.
