The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine intends to communicate with the International Monetary Fund on the increase of the social norm of gas consumption at the reduced rate of 3.6 UAH/cubic meter ($0.15) from 200 to 400 cubic meters per month.

This was announced by head of Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction in the Parliament Yurii Lutsenko on air of a TV channel, Сensor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

"We speak of increasing the amount of gas at the reduced rate for the population from 200 to 400 cubic meter [per month - ed.], for 200 is only enough for a rabbit hole. After meeting with the prime minister we have secured this, and now we are agreeing certain financial calculations with the IMF," Lutsenko said.

He also added that people should be able to heat their homes in thrifty manner.
