 Cash transit van robbed in Kyiv, - Interior Ministry

Criminal proceedings have been initiated into assault on the cash transit van related to robbery committed in Solomianskyi district of Kyiv.

Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine.

According to the report, the assault was committed near one of the bank branches in Solomianskyi district of the Ukrainian capital yesterday at about 9:45 p.m.

"Two payroll bandits attacked the car and stole money menacing the cash-in-transit guards with guns (the attackers were carrying objects that looked like a pistol and assault rifle). The amount of stolen funds is being established. There were no casualties as a result of the incident," the law enforcement agency reported.

The investigation and operational group was working at the scene: the law enforcers have seized records from surveillance cameras located nearby. The police took measures to establish and detain the attackers.

The criminal proceedings have been initiated into the incident under Part 2 of the Article 187 (assault with intent to rob) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides punishment of up to ten years in prison.
