Several dozens deputies have no right to deprive 45 million Ukrainians of visa-free regime with EU, - Poroshenko

Several dozens of MPs who have not voted for laws related to the Visa Liberalization Action Plan (VLAP) between the EU and Ukraine, have no right to deprive 45 million of Ukrainian citizens of the right to travel freely around Europe.

This was said by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during the Q&A session at Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University on Friday, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"I am totally assured that 40 or 50 deputies who do not vote for these laws have no right to deprive 45 million of citizens of their right for visa-free travel to Schengen countries," Poroshenko said.

He added that this right has been long fought for by a team of Ukrainian diplomats and officials.

"They have won this right. This is why we cannot be detached, we have to press on the Verkhovna Rada to make it vote for the remaining laws," the head of state stressed.
