 Poroshenko: "No one is going to stop at Korban’s issue"

President Petro Poroshenko expects law enforcers to carry out transparent investigation of the criminal proceedings initiated against former Deputy Chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk regional state administration, member of the political council of the "Union of Ukrainian Patriots" ("Ukrop") Hennadii Korban.

He said this in an interview to Ukrainian TV channels, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

"I emphasize and insist on the fact that the investigation should be as transparent and unbiased as possible and have every reason to establish the public credibility," the president said.

"No one is going to stop at Korban's issue," Poroshenko stressed, adding that nobody had the immunity for commission of corruption offenses. According to him, Ukraine should soon hear new names of those who will be brought to justice.

As previously reported, the Prosecutor General's Office intended to request the court to impose pretrial detention against Korban. The Security Service of Ukraine detained Hennadii Korban in Dnipropetrovsk Oct. 31. He is suspected of creation of an organized criminal group, large scale misappropriation of funds, kidnapping, and car theft.
