 Fire in Svatove under control, - State Emergency Service Head Chechotkin

Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Mykola Chechotkin states fire in Svatove has been taken under control as of 3 p.m., Oct. 30.

As reported, as of 3 p.m., following the decision of emergency HQ, the gas supply has been halted to five settlements: Svatove, Petrivka, Miluvatka, Rudovna, and Mostky located within the impact area (approximate radius of 25 km).

Within 2 km radius of the area, 80 percent of panes have been shattered by the blast wave. The biggest part of the town stays without electricity and water supply.

To restore water supply, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine is using power generating stations of 30 and 50 kW.

Svatove has been divided into 15 sectors with operative groups of explosive engineers, police officers, and representatives of local authorities operating in each of them. They are exploring the area to identify and dispose of explosive items as well as to assess the destruction and damage to buildings.

The HQ has already received 58 notifications about various explosive objects having been found in the area.
