Damaged houses and hospital as residents hide in basements, - pictures of destruction in Svatove. PHOTOS

Nine five-story buildings, six four-story buildings, and 20 three-story buildings have been damaged in the explosions in Svatove while panic sets in.

Human rights activist from Luhansk Pavlo Lysianskyi wrote on his Facebook page, Censor.NET reports.

He has published the pictures of damaged houses in Svatove and described the situation in the city.

"I've been to a shelter in building's basement where the residents are hiding. They told me about the damaged hospital and lack of medications. We immediately purchased all necessary stuff in a pharmacy (it is working!). I immediately got in touch with people's deputy Artur Palatnyi and Oleksandr Antonov, they agreed to render assistance - some medications will be delivered to the Svatove hospital today. I'm furious about taxi drivers. People told me how these bastards took their countrymen out of the city at fivefold rates. How can a man cash in on his neighbors in such a situation?" he said.

"A city in the rear got spontaneously stricken be the panic of war. It took time for many people to understand what had happened. They all rushed into the cellars, leaving everything. People were not ready for such a test. The destruction is vast - Svatove is reminiscent of Debaltseve while in war. The havoc is the same, elderly people fear to go out, staying in basements with poor ventilation. People in shelters are lacking medical care, essential medicines, drinking water, and food," Lysianskyi explained.
