 35 houses damaged in Svatove. Hundreds of residents evacuated, - Luhansk Regional State Administration

As of 6 a.m., Oct. 30, the explosions of ammunition at the Svatove arms depot became less frequent.

"At the same time, explosions are less frequent. At midnight, their periodicity was one explosion in 10 minutes, while now - one in an hour.

According to Yurii Klymenko, the deputy head of the Luhansk regional military-civil administration, the fire broke out yesterday, Oct. 29, at 8 a.m. Its source - a 300x300 meters ground at the arms depot. The total stock was about 3,500 tons of miscellaneous ammunition. The cause and the circumstances of the accident are being investigated with a commission of the Defense Ministry and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine working at the scene," the report reads.

As reported, a female resident born 1966 was killed in the explosion.

According to preliminary information, nine five-story buildings, six four-story buildings, and 20 three-story buildings have been damaged. Several local fires have occurred in the aftermath.

At 6 a.m., 15 joint groups, composed of miners, explosive engineers, police officers, and medical workers, arrived at the scene. They have to demine the area and remove unexploded munitions.

"The patients of the Svatove district hospital as well as a nursing home and a boarding school have been evacuated. About 200 residents have been taken out of the city with 500 residents having left the territory by private vehicles.
