 Two people killed by explosions of ammunition in Svatove, Luhansk region Governor Tuka says

Two people have been killed as a result of explosions of ammunition that are underway in the territory of a military base in the city of Svatove in the Luhansk region.

Chairman of the Luhansk military and civilian administration Heorhii Tuka told BBC Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.

According to him, one of the victims was an employee of the store, which was hit by the shell fragment.

Heorhii Tuka also said that according to his information, the cause of the fire at the ammunition depot was terrorist attack.

"This is a terrorist act," he said, adding that the fire was caused by two shots from a signal flare pistol in the direction of the depot.

He also said that the explosions posed threat to the residents of about a dozen high-rise buildings located near the fire zone. They were planned to be evacuated.
