 Austrian court sanctions Firtash's return to Ukraine, - media

The lawyers of fugitive Ukrainian businessman Dmytro Firtash and Austria's prosecution have received the decision of the Regional Court for Criminal Cases in Vienna, making his return to Ukraine possible.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by a competitive source of Interfax-Ukraine.

"The court's decision is favorable for Firtash, it lifts all restrictions previously imposed on his activities and gives him an opportunity to leave Austria. We expect that Firtash will soon return to Ukraine," the source said.

He added that after returning to Ukraine, Firtash intends to take part in the congress of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine he heads.

As previously reported, chairman of the board at Group DF, head of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine Dmytro Firtash was arrested in Austria on March 12, 2014 at the request of U.S. authorities. The Regional Court for Criminal Cases in Vienna ruled to extradite Firtash, while agreeing to remand him on bail of EUR 125 mln under the obligation not to leave Austria. April 30, 2015, the same court rejected a bid by the U.S. to extradite Dmytro Firtash to the country.

After the end of the process, the businessman told reporters in Vienna about his intentions to return to Ukraine as soon as the court's decision is issued.
