 Yatseniuk: Russia has no right to influence EU-Ukraine free trade area deal

Jan. 1, 2016, EU-Ukraine deep and comprehensive free trade area - an integral part of the wider Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine - is to take effect and the Russian Federation should not have the right to influence this bilateral agreement.

As reported by Censor.NET referring to Ukrinform, this was announced by Prime Minister Arsenii Yatseniuk at a joint press conference with Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel in Kyiv on Thursday.

"The agreement on free trade area is to come into effect on Jan. 1 next year. This is an agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, no third country should have the right to affect the validity of this agreement. First of all, I am talking about the Russian Federation," the head of the Cabinet stated.

As previously reported, the Russian side urged Ukraine to postpone the implementation of the trade part of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.
