Considering law on lustration, Constitutional Court’s judge Shaptala cites opinion of subject to purge Kivalov

When considering the law on the cleansing of the ranks of power, judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Shaptala referred to the opinion of non-affiliated MP Serhii Kivalov, who himself is the subject to purge and can be personally interested in the recognition of the law as unconstitutional.

Censor.NET observer Serhii Ivanov reported from the courtroom.

Judge of the Constitutional Court Milnyk directed the remark to judge-rapporteur Shaptala that it was not necessary to cite Kivalov's opinion so often in her report while he himself was the subject to purge and can be personally interested in the recognition of the law as unconstitutional.

In turn, Shaptala replied that she did not see anything wrong with that insisting that "Kivalov was respected legal scholar" and it was not worth trying to catch him in a bias approach.
