This was announced by Head of the Central Armored Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yurii Melnyk, Censor.NET reports citing 5 Channel.
"The units are being equipped. The chief of the general staff has set a clear task - all combat units should be maximally reinforced with armored vehicles until the end of the year. This task will be fulfilled," Melnyk assured.
"According to the program, we plan the purchase of Oplot battle tanks as early as next year. This program will be carried out. We are currently negotiating with the Malyshev Factory [state-owned manufacturer of heavy equipment in Kharkiv - ed.] about possible supplies of these tanks to Ukraine's Armed Forces," he added.
