"Three our men have been wounded over four days. Bold strikes are constantly committed. The separatists fire day and night. Snipers are also active - one soldier was injured by a sniper today," one of the officers said on condition of anonymity. He said that the attacks were carried out with the use of SPG-9 (anti-tank grenade launcher) and 82-mm caliber mortars.
According to the source of LB.ua, there is a commission of the two Generals from Ukraine and Russia situated in the building of the new terminal of the airport at a distance of 500 meters from the Ukrainian servicemen's positions but they ignore reports on shelling saying that they have heard nothing.
"The SPGs are prohibited weapons, just as mortars. But they (separatists - LB.ua) have been given 41 days to withdraw weapons while our troops did it within four days. We have been strictly prohibited to fire in return. The military law-enforcement service officers and prosecutors visit us and punish combat leaders demanding to turn in weapons, initiating criminal proceedings for violation of the Minsk agreements," the military said.
"Before that, the separatists' subversive and reconnaissance groups made attempts to infiltrate, to capture our soldiers. The guys had forced those subversive and reconnaissance groups back but then received reprimands from the command," he added.
The Ukrainian military are unable to respond to enemy attacks that violate the terms of the Minsk agreements, although the Armed Forces detachments suffer losses as a result.
"This happens all over the ATO area. Previously, the wounded soldiers were taken to Dnipropetrovsk. But there was a public outcry in the city: the people were outraged by such a cease-fire, when soldiers were receiving shrapnel injuries, gunshot wounds and had "careless handling of weapons" written in their medical records," the officer said.
According to him, the detachments deployed in the vicinity of the Donetsk airport await permission from the General Staff to open fire in return.
Another interlocutor of LB.ua, a maneuver commander at the front line said that "he did not intend to hold his guys back anymore" even if that decision would be followed by his arrest: "Our neighbors from the 93rd Brigade deployed near the mine near Avdiivka had one soldier killed and two more injured today - the mine was shelled from AGS (automatic grenade launcher). Besides, one of our soldiers has also received injury. And that is only one day. How much can you take?"
At the same time, Presidential Administration speaker on the ATO issues Andrii Lysenko told LB.ua that he had no information on the attacks committed by the separatists with heavy weapons.
"We have no such information, we have not received it. There was one shelling over the past day between Berezove and Novotroitske (the Donetsk region), which we have told about today. We haven't received today's information yet," the ATO speaker said. According to him, there were no casualties in the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the past weekend.
"Those guys who had been injured before were quickly brought to local hospitals. And when their condition became stable and they became transportable, they were sent to Kharkiv," Lysenko said.
