Poroshenko: Russia will pay high price for its aggression

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that Russia wants to create a belt of instability from Syria to Ukraine.

Poroshenko said in an interview with BBC, Censor.NET reports citing the press office of the president.

The head of state reminded that from the very beginning of the Russian aggression Ukraine has provided irrefutable evidence of the presence of the Russian regular troops in the country, which were operating with terrorists supplied by heavy weaponry, tanks, MANPADS, MLRSes, and the like from Russia.

"After the Russian aggression in Crimea and Donbas, the world's post-war security system based on the Charter of the United Nations and the efficient operation of the UN Security Council was completely destroyed," the president said. He also described the situation in Syria as "complete destabilization" as a result of Russian military intervention.

"I believe that Russia will get a completely different result. Just the same as we have demonstrated by the efficiency of our coordination with Europe, the United States and all the transatlantic partners and stopped the Russian aggression and "invited" Russia to pay for absolutely irresponsible, aggressive behavior against Ukraine through the efficient mechanism of sanctions," the president said.
