 Gazprom plans to start gas supplies to Ukraine Oct. 12

Russian Gazprom gas monopoly plans to start delivering natural gas in Ukraine Oct. 12 at 10 a.m.

The press service of Gazprom stated, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

"The agreement with Naftogaz Ukrainy has just been reached that the advance payment for gas supplies in October will be made today. Upon receipt of funds, Gazprom will start gas start delivering gas in Ukraine Oct. 12 at 10 a.m.," the statement reads.

The press office of Gazprom noted that the Ukrainian side had already sent a request for supply of 2 billion cubic meters of gas in October.

Ukraine, Russia and the European Commission have agreed during the tripartite talks in Brussels (Belgium) Sept. 25 that the price of one thousand cubic meters of Russian natural gas for Ukraine for the period from October 1 to December 31, 2015 will be $227.

Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Volodymyr Demchyshyn admits that Naftogaz Ukrainy National Joint Stock Company can begin import of natural gas of the Russian Gazprom gas monopoly without signing tripartite protocol but according to the tripartite agreements reached between Ukraine, the European Commission, and Russia in Brussels (Belgium) Sept. 25.
