 8-12 percent of new Ukrainian police officers are former Interior ministry employees, - Minister Avakov

There are 8-12 percent of former Interior Ministry officers, who have passed the contest, in the new Ukrainian police.

Interior Minister Arsen Avakov told to a briefing, Censor.NET reports citing Lіga.

"To date, all those who pass the competition, pass the interviews, will start training. And after that we will make a decision whether they will become Ukrainian police officers or not," Avakov said.

The minister added that the former employees of the Interior Ministry constitute 8-12 percent of the personnel of the new police in every region where it already operates.

Answering journalists' questions, Avakov have denied reports that up to 50 percent of new police officers of Dnipropetrovsk are former Interior Ministry employees.
