"Diamond" prosecutors case to be taken to court in November, - Deputy Prosecutor General Kasko

The Prosecutor General's Office will take the materials of the case against the corrupt prosecutors Oleksandr Korniiets and Volodymyr Shapakin to court in November.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by Deputy Prosecutor General Vitalii Kasko in an interview with Ukrinform.

"At the moment, certain examinations and legal proceedings are at their final stages. The case is to be taken to court in November," he said.

Kasko also denies Korniiets' statement that the case against him is coming to a deadlock, as the investigation has been extended from two to four months.

"The statement of Korniiets is a manipulation. Show me a similar case that was taken to court after two months. This period was enough to finish the investigation in another case against a prosecutor in the Lviv region, where there was one applicant and a recorded fact of bribery. Given the amount of evidence and materials in the "diamond" prosecutors case, which require checking, four months is too little," Kasko stressed.
