 Two soldiers killed, five injured by mine tripping in M sector, - Donbas Regiment

A vehicle of the Donbas Regiment patrolling a sector at the Mariupol direction of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area tripped a mine Oct. 4.

Soldier of the Donbas Regiment Yevhen Shevchenko wrote on Facebook on Sunday evening, Censor.NET reports.

"The car of the Donbas Regiment patrolling the area of responsibility in the M sector has triggered a landmine an hour ago," he wrote. According to Shevchenko, one soldier died on spot, another one was in critical condition. One more soldier received non-life threatening injuries.

He wrote later: "The surgery was successful. There is no risk of loss of life of our wounded soldiers. I express my heartfelt thanks to Mariupol surgeons!!!"

He also said on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel later that the servicemen of the 37th Battalion, who came to rescue the Donbas Regiment soldiers, have tripped another mine.

"The guys who came to the rescue have tripped a mine as well. They have two or three soldiers wounded. We are talking about the 37th Battalion, if I am not mistaken. That is, we have one our man killed and they have one as well. There are also five wounded soldiers including two of the Donbas Regiment and three [armed forces] servicemen," he said.

"The work is peculiar to the one of subversive and reconnaissance groups of the enemy at our positions directly behind the demarcation line," he said.
