This was announced by SBU press officer Olena Hitlianska, Censor.NET reports citing SBU press center Facebook page. "Vasyl Hrytsak said a transparent investigation is to be conducted. Should any abuse of power by security guards be established, they will be punished," she said.
Olena Hitlianska also emphasized that under conditions of the increased terrorist threat, especially after the explosion near the SBU building in Odesa, the Service has reinforced security and control measures outside administrative buildings.
"I want to point out the fact that the journalists were shooting not only the building but also the staff and official cars, which falls under classified information which is not to be disclosed," she said.
The spokesperson also added that the media representatives had been released.
Upon the detention, the reporters were seen to a public reception for identification. When they showed their IDs, the problem was settled, she said.
"We are ready for a dialogue with journalists. We are ready to listen to their arguments and will inform the public about the progress and results of the investigation," Hytlianska said.
At the same time, journalist Mykhailo Tkach and cameraman Kyryl Lazarevych claim that law enforcers applied force against them during the detention.
