All the detainees are servicemen heading home on leave from ATO area, Kyiv police department press service says, Censor.NET reports.
"The men were carrying dangerous items in their travel bags. Five anti-tank shells PG-5p, 87 5.45-mm rounds, two AK-47 clips and two knives have been seized from a 32-year-old resident of Zhytomyr," the statement reads.
160 9-mm rounds, six skyrockets and 10 flares, four firecrackers and a knife have been seized from a 30-year-old resident of the Kyiv region. As reported, another detainee, a 35-year-old native of the Chernivtsi region, was carrying two packs of 5.45, 7.62-mm rounds and a knife.
The confiscated items have been sent for examination. Three criminal proceedings have been opened under Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosives). The materials are to forwarded to the military prosecutor's office.
