Gen. Petrushenko and Col. Horlo detained drunk in Odesa, dismissed from armed forces, - Poltorak

A colonel and a general have been fired from the Ukrainain Armed Forces for drunk driving, Ukraine's Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak said.

Poltorak announced dismissal of Gen. Mykola Petrushenko and Col. Kostiantyn Horlo detained for drunk driving in Odesa. He said this during a board meeting at the Ministry of Defense, Censor.NET reports citing 112 Ukraine.

"Overall, much have been done to improve the military discipline. But at the same time, there are a lot of problems. I am extremely dissatisfied with the work of individual commanders and officials responsible for the work with personnel. Unfortunately, there are a lot of offences committed by military personnel, particularly in the state of intoxication. There are violations of safety rules leading to non-combat losses. We also face poor quality of work at military registration and enlistment offices in terms of recruiting military personnel," Poltorak said.
