 Court upholds detention of Humeniuk suspected of throwing grenade outside Rada

The Kyiv Court of Appeals upheld the ruling of the Pechersk district court in Kyiv on pretrial detention of Ihor Humeniuk suspected of committing explosion outside the Verkhovna Rada building Aug. 31.

The corresponding decree has been announced by the panel of judges of the Appeal Court of Kyiv today, which granted the petition of the Prosecutor General's Office concerning the need of pretrial detention of Humeniuk.

"After the parties - participants of the trial have voiced their arguments, the court comes to the following conclusion: the investigative judgement of the Pechersk district court in Kyiv will remain unchanged. The petition of the defenders will be dismissed," the court's ruling reads.
