 Contact group on Donbas signs agreement on withdrawal of weapons under 100 mm

The Tripartite Contact Group to resolve the situation in the Donbas has agreed the withdrawal of weapons of caliber under 100 mm.

Press secretary of the Ukrainian representative at the talks, former President of Ukraine (1994-2005) Leonid Kuchma, Dariia Olifer wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"In Minsk, the Tripartite Contact Group has signed an agreement on withdrawal of weapons of caliber under 100 mm from the contact line. The document was signed by Martin Sajdik, Leonid Kuchma, and Azamat Kulmukhametov," she wrote.

"Therefore the initiative of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, which he voiced in the course of the Minsk agreements of Sept. 5, 2014 and Feb. 12, 2015, has been implemented. The Tripartite Contact Group expects this document to be signed by Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitsky as well," the press secretary wrote.

"Ukraine also demands that certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions immediately and strictly observe these agreements as an integral part of the Minsk agreements," Olifer stressed.
