Cabinet banned Russian airlines from Ukraine, - Yatseniuk

In accordance with National Security and Defense Council decision, the Cabinet of Ministers bans Russian airlines, primarily Aeroflot and Transaero, from Ukraine.

This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuk at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, Sept. 25, Censor.NET reports citing government portal.

The Cabinet of Ministers also prohibits all transit flights of Russian airlines over the territory of Ukraine "if they carry military goods, dual-use goods, or Russian military manpower."

He instructed that the Russian side be informed of the decision: "Russian planes with Russian flags have nothing to do in the Ukrainian airports."

Yatseniuk also said that in accordance with NSDC decision, it is prohibited to use software developed in Russia. He noted that in particular it concerned Russia's Kaspersky Lab software. The head of government instructed the State Special Communications Service of Ukraine to immediately disable program's updates as well as prohibit its further acquisition and use by state bodies.

"There is a clear demand to all executive authorities - the companies falling under sanctions should be forbidden any participation in public procurement, so that they do not have access to country's budgetary resources," Yatseniuk said.

The prime minister recalled that according to NSDC decision, enacted by a decree of the president of Ukraine, personal sanctions against individual subjects of the Russian Federation are introduced as well: "We have already made first steps, first of all, it concerns Ukrzaliznytsia (state railway network operator in Ukraine - ed.). The government insists on the immediate application of all sanctions as defined by NSDC decision," he stressed.
