Avakov announced this on his Facebook page, Censor.NET reports.
"Life is such a thing, guys... there's no black-and-white. I have just stood bail for Andrii Yanholenko's release," Avakov commented.
Slobozhanshchyna commander Yanholenko, who was preparing assassination attempt on Interior Minister Avakov, to remain in custody for 60 days
It was reported earlier that the court ruled on a 1.2 million UAH ($52,173) bail for Slobozhanshchyna battalion commander Yanholenko for participation in preparation of an attempt on Avakov.
Avakov has not specified what motivated him to do so. However, Censor.NET's source in the Interior Ministry notes that the decision might be Avakov's appreciation of Yanholenko's merits to the country in war time. Besides, given that the case is about an intention, not a crime, the minister decided to give Yanholenko a chance to prepare for his defense in court outside of the pre-trial detention center.
