 Situation in S sector deteriorated: Luhanske and Svitlodarsk fired at with small arms in the evening, - press officer

Yesterday, Sept. 22, Luhanske and Svitlodarsk were fired at by terrorists with small arms. Information on casualties is being specified.

This was announced by the S sector press officer Vladyslav Voloshyn on air of TV channel 112 Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.

According to him, the situation in S sector (along the line Vuhlehirsk - Debaltseve - Zorinsk line - ed.) has deteriorated. Yesterday, eight cases of shelling were recorded, mostly from small arms. Besides, a sniper and automated grenade launchers were operating.

"In addition to firing, there were provocative activities conducted, i.e. the fire was opened against Ukrainian positions. This happened near Luhanske and Svitlodarske. The fire against Ukrainian positions was conducted all evening long," he said.

Voloshyn noted that this shelling might be related to terrorists' drills.

"They are trying to coordinate their activities... We also think they are testing the Ukrainian military's nerves, whether they will react to provocations by mercenaries," the press officer explained.
