The relations between Ukraine and NATO are more than a partnership to date. One of the main tasks of Ukraine is to reach full interoperability of the Armed Forces with NATO forces and full compliance with the standards of the Alliance.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated opening today's meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Censor.NET informs citing the official page of the head of state on Facebook.

"Today's meeting of the NSDC is of historic significance since it is the first time the great friend of Ukraine - NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg takes part in it," Poroshenko said.

"We are not NATO members de jure but we are more than just partners de facto. The policy of Euro-Atlantic integration is enshrined in all strategic documents. Our number one tusk is the complete interoperability of the Armed Forces with the NATO forces and full compliance with the standards of the Alliance," the president said.

Earlier, Poroshenko said that Ukraine intends to demonstrate the evidence of Russia's participation in the conflict in the Donbas to the NATO during the closed part of the meeting of the National Security and Defense Council.
