 28th Mechanized Brigade battalion commander detained for bribe of UAH 1.1 million, - Military Prosecutor Matios

Law enforcers detained the commander of a battalion of the 28th Mechanized Brigade of Ukraine's Armed Forces on suspicion of receiving UAH 1.1 million (about $50,330) in bribe.

This was announced by Chief Military Prosecutor Anatolii Matios on air of ICTV channel, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

"Two hours ago, a commander of a battalion of the 28th Mechanized Brigade was detained after receiving a bribe of UAH 1.1 million for allowing 10 vehicles across the demarcation line," he said.

Matios stressed that prosecutors had been documenting evidence of commander's illegal activity for two months until his brigade was completely withdrawn from the ATO area and it became possible to detain the suspect.
