As Head of the regional prosecutor's office Pavlo Uhrovetskyi explained, the suspect was sentenced to six years in prison for attempt to commit an explosion aimed at the destruction or damage of the facility of economic significance (covered by Part 2 of the Article 15 and Article 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It was found during the pre-trial investigation that a Kharkiv resident, being an active supporter of the idea of creation of the so-called "Novorossia", decided to destabilize the situation in the city and region. He planned to blow up the railroad on the outskirts of the city near Novozhanove with this aim, the agency noted.

The subversive was detained by the officers of the Security Service of Ukraine this year July just when he was planting the explosives at the track switch near the Kharkiv Passenger Railroad Station.
