This was announced by Presidential Administration of Ukraine Deputy Head Kostiantyn Yeliseiev at a briefing, Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN.
Yeliseiev said that consultations with the German side have been held today in order to develop a common vision regarding measures aimed to prevent fake elections in the Donbas.
He also recalled that any elections in certain territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions have to take place in accordance with Ukraine's legislation and in full compliance with the standards of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.
"We hope that our message will finally be heard in the respective capital (Moscow - ed.), and these elections will be canceled. Otherwise, their results will have unforeseen and negative consequences for the whole process," Yeliseiev said.
In this regard, he said that "we are really in the process of active dialogue with our partners, developing a whole range of actions and measures in case the negative scenario takes place, that is, if fake elections are held."
However, he said that Ukraine still hopes that fake elections in the Donbas will be canceled.
