Army to receive Ukrainian drones in November, - Ukroboronprom

Kyiv state-owned enterprise "Meridian" is in charge of production of drones which will be supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine as soon as late November 2015.

As reported by Censor.NET citing LigaBusinessInform, it was announced by Ukroboronprom first deputy general director Serhii Pinkas on air of 5 Channel.

"There is a special facility at Meridian where drones are assembled. We are using inventions of National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute," he said.

According to Pinkas, the first batch of Ukrainian drones has already been ordered by the defense authority. "In late November, we shall provide prototypes ready for use by the Ukrainian Armed Forces," he added.

According to Luhansk-1 battalion fighter Andrii Umrykhin, a winner of Europe's drone modelling championship, Ukraine has a vast technical base to develop and produce its own drones.

"Ukraine is rather powerful in terms of its technical capacity: we are able to produce drones and have massive engineering basis. I can not grasp why the state has not addressed us during the ATO period. There have been a lot of different events with the participation of Ukraine's Armed Forces, which we attended and where we showed our models. But everything we heard was just "well done," and then they left and we continued to voluntarily assemble drones, send them to battalions, and train soldiers to use them," he said.
