US regrets Russia's blocking of OSCE SMM expansion in Ukraine

The official Washington has expressed its regrets regarding another blocking by the Russian delegation in the OSCE of the decision to expand the Special Monitoring Mission at the Russian-Ukrainian border.

This was announced by the U.S. Permanent Representative to the OSCE Ambassador Daniel Baer at the meeting in Vienna, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"The United States deeply regrets that the Russian Federation continues blocking the decision on the geographical expansion of the monitoring mission in spite of clear, strong and sustained support from the other participating countries," Baer said.

The U.S. Permanent Representative to the OSCE described Russia's actions as "inappropriate." He said that now the mission would still "be deprived of the opportunity to determine whether Russia is involved in or facilitates the illegal flow of arms, finance and personnel in support of the separatists in eastern Ukraine."
