 "LPR" terrorist to spend three years in prison, - prosecution

A member of an illegal armed gang of the "Luhansk People's Republic" has been sentenced to three years in prison in the Luhansk region.

This was announced by the Luhansk Regional Prosecution Office press service, Censor.NET reports.

The Popasna district court of the Luhansk region has sentenced the resident of the Popasna district who had participated in an illegal armed gang in July 2014 and served at a checkpoint of the "Luhansk People's Republic" to serve three years in prison under part 2, article 260 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (participation in activities of illegal armed gangs).

The sentence has been appealed by the defendant to the Appeal Court of the Luhansk region with a request to change the sentence into another one not related to prison.

The Appeal Court has declined the request, leaving the Popasna district court's sentence without changes.
